The sport was rocked by the tragic loss of a competitor at their national championships in 2010 and again in 2012.
Our Managing Director was requested to lead a full review of risk, safety, emergency management and rescue operations. This has resulted in the implementation of benchmark procedures that now allows the sport to provide a safe but challenging event. These procedures have now been implemented in other surf sport events such as the Coolangatta Gold and the Nutri-Grain IronSeries.
